So my last day as an EMT (previously called LT) at Ammoryiah was July 11, 2012. It was definitely a bitter sweet day. I will miss a lot of the teachers there but I was definitely glad to leave! It was a roller coaster ride of many ups and downs, but I learned a lot and overcame many professional and personal obstacles.
Ups
- Seeing the girls' English improve
 - Making new friends
 - Only working until 3:00
 - Growing as a teacher
 - Learning how to teach without many of the resources and conveniences I had in the States
 - Doing well on both evaluations
 - Being respected by the principal
 - Gaining respect and love from the students
 - Being respected by the Arabic teachers
 - Finally having my own classroom

- Outdoor school
 - Not having many of the conveniences and resources that I had in the States
 - Creating a portfolio
 - Not having consistent water
 - No administrative support
 - Being kicked out of the staff room
 - EMSA with its way too high expectations and not realizing that these students are learning a foreign language
 - countless meaningless PDs
 - Inappropriate behavior being tolerated and not being allowed to have any consequences
